These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Robin mobile application and the Robin website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. About Robin

Robin is a bird-spotting companion app that helps you identify birds from photos, learn about them, and keep a personal collection of your sightings.

2. Use of the Service

  • You must use the Service in compliance with applicable laws.
  • You are responsible for the photos you submit. Do not submit content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.
  • Respect wildlife: never disturb nesting birds or protected habitats while using the app.

3. Identifications are best-effort

Bird identifications, facts, sighting locations and other content are generated by AI models and community data sources, and are provided for fun and educational purposes only. They may occasionally be inaccurate. Do not rely on the Service for scientific, conservation or safety decisions.

4. Subscriptions

Certain features may require a paid subscription ("Robin Pro"), billed through the App Store. Prices and features will be shown before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your App Store settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

5. Third-party data

The Service uses third-party data sources, including bird sighting data from eBird (Cornell Lab of Ornithology) and species imagery and descriptions from Wikipedia. That content belongs to its respective owners and is subject to their terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding and software, is owned by us. Photos you take remain yours; you grant us a licence to process them solely to provide the identification features.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
